As a child I as given the privilege of being able to grow up in my parents pawn shops, watching them work with people to make sure they made ends meet every month and seeing them interact in the community and help change how pawn shops were viewed in our city.
I knew almost immediately that I wanted to continue in the family business once old enough and also put my stamp on what a pawn shop could be. My father passed before I got the chance to truly work with him, but since his passing I have purchased his shop and have tried to carry on his tradition while putting my stamp on the business.
A pawn is a collateral loan. This is when money is lent in exchange for items of value, with the loan amount based on that item’s value. The item is returned when the loan is paid off, or can be surrendered as payment in full.
Your loan amount will be determined according to other factors as well, such as product demand and condition of the item.
While your item is in pawn, you still own it. It is our responsibility to keep it safe while it’s in our care. When we receive an item for pawn, we keep all accessories (remote controls, cables, etc.). Your item is safely stored until you return to pay your pawn loan in full and reclaim it.
